Great Wall Museum

The Great Wall Museum in Jiayuguan is the first theme museum to show the Great Wall culture in a comprehensive and systematic way in China. Newly located in the Jiayuguan cultural relics scenic spot, it has been open to the public since 1989 after its first construction in the south of Xinhua Road of Jiayuguan City.

Looking around the museum, visitors may separate in two different tour routes. The first one is in chronological order, since the main exhibition part “the great Great Wall” is divided into four periods, including the Spring and Autumn Period (770-221BC), the Qin (221-206 BC) and Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), the Northern Wei (386-534 AD) to the Jin (1115-1234 AD), and the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD). It perfectly shows visitors the history of the Great Wall in the past 3,000 years.
