Meijiawu Tea Plantation
Meijiawu Tea Plantation is a symbol of Meijiawu Tea Village, a small mountain village which is located just outside the city in the West Lake scenic area. Meijiawu has long been well known for its Longjing (Dragon Well) Tea tradition.
As one of the most important tea production bases in Hangzhou，the Meijiawu Tea Plantation gathers natural farm scenery and tea culture together. By going through the Meiling Mountain Tunnel, you then go to renovated Meiling Road and will smell the fragrance of tea. The crystal-clear river that flows down from the Wuyun Mountain and the typical white and green cottages make a picturesque landscape; thus, it is an ideal place for enjoying Chinese Longjing Tea, viewing the tidily juxtaposed residential houses in the Southern Yangtze River Region and seeing the green meadow of tea fields.
Surrounded by green mountains and charming tea fragrance, the place makes you feel the clean country air and retreat from the crowded and bustling urban areas. This tea culture village features 160 tea houses, in which visitors get a chance to learn about the history and culture of the Meijiawu Tea Plantation and appreciate the whole process of Chinese Tea Ceremony.
