Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp

We cannot talk about Tibet without Mount. Everest or Qomolangma, above sea level at 8,848 meters,is the world's highest mountain. It is the dominant peak of Himalayas, located in the border of Nepal and China. Both attracted by the spectacular natural sceneries and inspired by one’s great ambitions, a multitude of climbers and amateurs had tried to reach the top of the mountain, but few of them finally succeeded. However, the Everest Base Camp plays an important role in their challenge, which acts like a supply depot.

Mt. Everest has two base camps; the south one is in Nepal and the north one is in Tibet of China. Here, we certainly points to the north one in China. This crude camp on Mount Everest is also used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent, in which tents and tourism service like hotels, teahouses, shops and post offices are offerred. For most of the travelers, it is also one of the best places to enjoy the beauty of the holy Mt. Everest. Everest Base Camp has vehicle access even though it is at elevation of 5,200 meters.
