    Day 1Arrive in Beijing

    Upon arrival at Beijing Airport, your private English-speaking tour guide will be waiting for you at the international arrival hall. After meeting with the guide, you and your luggage will be transferred to your hotel by a car.

  • Dignified Nine Dragon Wall

    Day 2Beijing

    Today’s tour starts from Tian'anmen Square, the very heart and center of the Chinese Nation. From there you will walk beneath the famous Mao portrait and enter into the once-secret world of emperors, empresses, court eunuchs and officials which is still known as Forbidden City. For many, this experience itself is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. After lunch, visit Temple of Heaven where the emperor went every year to humble himself in prayer to assure a good harvest for his people. For your evening dinner, taste delicious Roast Duck at a specialty restaurant. After dinner, watch a Kongfu Show at Shicha Lake Theater.

  • Great Wall with history of thousand years

    Day 3 Beijing

    After a western buffet breakfast at your hotel, you will have a half day excursion to Great Wall, another absolutely unforgettable experience. After lunch, we will arrange a visit to Jade Museum where you will learn about the importance of jade in Chinese culture, and where you will also be able to buy some souvenirs of your trip. After that, take a stroll on the grounds of site of 2008 Olympics, and view Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and the National Swimming Center (Water Cube) from outside.

  • Hutong Tour of foreign visitors

    Day 4Beijing

    The first destination after breakfast today will be Summer Palace, now a popular park for the people of Beijing. A famous feature is the 729 meter long covered walkway, which is so richly ornamented with paintings and decorations that in 1992 it was recognized as “the longest gallery all over the world” by Guinness World Records. Next you will have a wonderful shopping and educational experience at a pearl factory store, followed by a visit to the lively and very fashionable 798 Art District (a former factory area now the site of trendy art galleries and shops). Afterwards, capping a day of unique sights and experiences, you will have a special tour by rickshaw of the Hutong traditional housing areas. Dinner will be on your own.

    After breakfast, take a domestic flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival, check in hotel and have a rest for acclimatization. Buffet dinner will be served at hotel.

  • Nuns and local kid

    Day 6Lhasa

    After breakfast, you will visit Jokhang Temple (the temple and related buildings are collectively a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Barkhor Street, the heart of the old Lhasa town. In Tibetan Buddhism, Jokhang Temple was regarded as the center of the Universe. Next, you will visit Hospital of Tibetan Medicine which is undergoing an expansion because of its popularity with residents. After lunch, we will visit Sera Monastery, long a center of Buddhist scholarship, where you can witness debates among the monks on issues of Buddhist doctrine.

  • Holy Potala Palace

    Day 7Lhasa

    After breakfast, you will tour Potala Palace, another element of the UNESCO site. It is divided into two parts, the white palace and the red one. It is known as the highest castle-style palace in the world. After lunch, visit Drepung Monastery, one of three famous monasteries in Lhasa. Afterwards, we have arranged a visit with a local Tibetan family.

  • Norbulingka Palace at Tibet

    Day 8Lhasa

    After breakfast, visit Norbulingka Park, formerly the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas, now a park open to the public. Then go to visit the impressive Tibet Museum, opened in 1999. After lunch, visit Buddhist Nun Monastery and carpet factory.

  • Impressive Yamdrok Lake

    Day 9Lhasa/Tsedang

    After breakfast, drive to Tsedang, the capital of Shannan Region, and traditionally regarded as the cradle of Tibetan culture. On the way, you will visit Samye Monastery and view Yarlung Tsangpo River. Upon arrival, visit Yongbulakang, which is more than 2,000 years old and was the first palace in Tibet. And then, visit Trandruk Monastery, traditionally regarded as the first Buddhist temple in Tibet, which is also famous for its pearl Thang-ga (a unique Tibet style of scroll painting).

  • Palkor Chode located in Tibet

    Day 10Tsedang/Gyantse

    After breakfast, drive to Gyantse, site of a well-preserved ancient fortress. You will visit Yamdrok Lake, one of the largest of Tibet’s sacred lakes, on the way. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the amazing black and white Karola Glacier. Upon arrival, have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you can stroll around the old streets of this ancient town.

  • Gyantse Monument

    Day 11Gyantse/Shigatse

    After breakfast, we travel to another ancient Tibetan city, Shigatse. In the afternoon, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, and the site of the Gudong, his palace.

    Day 12Shigatse/Lhasa/Shanghai

    After breakfast, drive to Lhasa, and then transfer to Gonggar Airport.This morning, take domestic flight to legendary and dynamic Shanghai. Shanghai combines the vitality and energy of New York with the sense of history you feel in a city like Paris - in fact many visitors compare it to both these cities. You will be struck by the graceful sweep of The Bund in “old” Shanghai with its busy boulevard and pedestrian promenades along the Huangpu River, and across the river, you will be amazed by the many dramatic new skyscrapers along Binjiang Avenue in the new Pudong District.

    Day 13Shanghai

    You will have some free time in the morning. After lunch, your guide will take you to the very trendy and popular Xintiandi Pedestrian Shopping District. Xintiandi is an intriguing place that appeals to many different people - those with long memories remember old acquaintances and past adventures, young people think of it as fashionable place to shop, foreign visitors experience Xintiandi for its traditional Chinese character, while Chinese people visit it for its foreign flavor! Yes, it surely deserves a visit. In the early evening, we take a cruise on the Huangpu River to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river, contrasting the Bund on the “old” side and the spectacular, brightly lighted new skyscrapers of Binjiang Avenue in the Lujiazui financial district on the “new” side of the river.

    Day 14Shanghai

In the evening, after a special dinner in the Dynasty Hotel, you will enjoy an acrobatics show at Portman Ritz Carlton Hotel.

    Day 15Depart from Shanghai

    Hi, could you tell me how long il takes from Beijing to Tibet by train?

    TBT-02 has kind of attracted me, but there is no terra-cotta in it, could I visit it?
